apt-cache

1. Policy
policy is meant to help debug issues relating to the preferences file. With no arguments it will print out the priorities of each source. Otherwise it prints out detailed information about the priority selection of the named package.
apt-cache policy [package]
2. Show version control URL for package
apt-cache showrc PACKAGE
3. Dependencies
3.1. List each dependencies for package
apt-cache depends [--installed] PACKAGE
3.2. List each reverse dependencies for package
apt-cache rdepends [--installed] PACKAGE
4. List available sections
apt-cache dumpavail | grep '^Section:' | sort -u
